The former Head of Sales and Project Management, Murat Simsir, took over the position of CSO (Chief Sales Officer) on January 1, 2024. With more than two decades of dedication and outstanding performance for Montech, Murat Simsir will assist with the company’s strategic management. In this conversation, he looks back on his career and the future of Montech.

Murat, you’ve been working at Montech for nearly 25 years.
Tell us something about your career.

I started as a designer in Montech‘s internal sales service department on March 1, 1999. Since then, I have held several different positions. Among other things, I was involved as project manager in the development of the LTE transfer system. Even today, this product is one of Montech’s best sellers. After holding other positions as Deputy Head of Design and Product Management and Head of Design, I established and led the Online Tools department in 2006. I built the first online conveyor configurator and made Montech the only technology company with an e-shop at the time. These steps were and still are groundbreaking for us and the entire industry. Then I switched to sales. Among other things, I worked in the management of what was then the Montrac product division. When this division was spun off and a subsidiary founded for this purpose, I took over as COO of their operations management. As soon as the subsidiary was on track, I returned to the parent company Montech as Head of Internal Sales.

What are your responsibilities as CSO?

In addition to my previous tasks, I now bear overall responsibility for marketing and thus for the further development of marketing alignment and positioning. As CSO, I will ensure that Montech continues to grow and achieve its revenue goals.

What skills will help you in your new role?

My many years of experience in sales and e-commerce will certainly be beneficial to my new role. Over the years and thanks to the various positions I have held, I have determined that my passion is truly technical sales. I recognize customer needs very quickly. Together with my expert and dynamic team, I develop custom and economical solutions for customers around the world in many different industries.

What do you especially like about your new job?

“I am delighted that I can now participate in strategic events together with my longtime, esteemed colleagues Daniel Pauli (CEO) and Remo Studer (CFO),” says Murat Simsir. To this end, I would like to continue to focus on innovation and develop the company’s successful sales strategy, for standing still means moving backwards.

How is the market changing at the moment?

The pace of products has accelerated in recent years. Producers therefore have to make their production facilities pay off in a much shorter time than they did ten years ago. This fast pace places dynamic demands on component and system suppliers. “As a CSO, I therefore have to recognize market needs and developments early on and immediately incorporate, develop, and take appropriate measures at the company,” explains Murat Simsir.

What strategic goals do you want to achieve for Montech?

As a link between the sales and marketing departments, I am committed to understanding and meeting their mutual needs so that sales and marketing can operate even more efficiently. I would also like to expand and advance Montech’s market position as a technology and price leader in conveying and framing technology: Montech should continue to maintain its leading price-performance ratio in the European and American regions and be a trend setter in terms of technology. The focus is and will remain on conveying and framing technology. To this end, we will expand our product range and further develop Montech as an innovator in order to expand and retain our lead.

Thank you very much for the exciting insights, Murat.
